Read along and be guided through how a floor sanding takes place. What a floor sanding costs, whether you can do it yourself before you embark on the project.
How much does a floor sanding cost per m2?
A floor sanding is not a completely cheap affair, but in fact it is still not as expensive as many go and fear.
When talking about prices for floor sanding, it is mostly settled per m2 that needs to be sanded. Floor sanding prices per. m2 varies depending on the type of surface treatment you want on your sanded floor afterwards.
The prices that craftsmen state for Gulvafslibning typically include VAT, materials, driving, machinery and hourly wages. So there are no hidden costs on top of the price you see, and you can therefore easily calculate the total cost of the project.
Price of floor sanding without surface treatment
If you only want a floor sanding, and no surface treatment, then you can get away with it quite cheaply. This solution is relevant for you if, for example, you want to be responsible for the finishing of your floors.
Prices for floor sanding alone typically cost in the region of DKK 60-80 per. m2. This means that if you have a living room of 40 m2, then a floor sanding price will typically be 2400 – 3200 DKK, which is not a very expensive solution for a completely new look in your home.
Please note, however, that doorsteps and steps are typically settled separately and at a slightly higher m2 price than the floor itself. This is because these areas are more difficult and takes a little longer to sand and possibly treat.
Price for floor sanding and varnishing
There are many benefits to having lacquered hardwood floors in your home. The primary reasons are that it is more resilient, easier to keep clean, and many also find it really elegant.
If you want to have varnish on your newly sanded floors, then there are some things you need to be aware of that affect the price. Floor sanding prices depend on how many coats of varnish you want on your floor. Or whether you want a coat of lye, for example, before varnish is apply on top.
Where lacquer gives a shiny and shiny surface on a wooden floor, lye gives a more matte and whitish surface and thus a different expression in the floor than lacquer alone.
Price examples of floor sanding per. m2 with painting
A floor sanding with twice varnish (which is relatively common) typically costs around DKK 100 per. m2.
If you want an extra coat of varnish (and thus three times varnish in total), it often costs between DKK 105 and 120 per coat. m2.
If you want both lye and twice varnish after your floor sanding, the price will be between 110 and 120 DKK per. m2.
The price difference between the different solutions is, as you can read above, not very large. But of course a price difference can be feel if it is a large room or if the whole house needs a floor sanding.
However, it should not be the price difference that determines which solution you choose, but rather your own personal taste and comfort, as well as what wishes you have for the durability and appearance of your floor.
